Agricultural
tourism can play an important role in the economy of a region and to promote its agricultural products. By staying in the village, tourists live among the farmers for a while. They participate in traditional agricultural activities and farmers, while providing services in addition to earning money, provide
benefits for tourists
.

 

Among the advantages of this type of tourism, we can mention the following:

It is low cost compared to other types of tourism
Earning surplus income for the members of the farmer's family
welfare and economic level of the village
encouraging farmers to develop saffron cultivation,
helping to revive and develop the traditions, arts and local industries of Iran
preserving the traditional fabric of the villages
finding new consumers for the manufactured products
preventing migration to cities

Requirements

   Undoubtedly, the implementation of this plan requires the authorities to pay more attention to the potential of saffron-growing areas and their support in providing the required infrastructure. Among these infrastructures and requirements, the following can be mentioned:

Creating a specialized site and system, facilitating related organizations and institutions (Cultural Heritage Organization, Tourism, etc.), developing model farms and certifying them, using the potential of farmers as guides for tourists, strengthening the infrastructure including communication ways; health and welfare services and improving rural transportation, creating intercity resorts, designing and creating national and global slogans.

Actions of the OSEC club

   Due to the importance of this issue, OSEC Club intends to implement a plan for the development of saffron agro-tourism. Among the basic measures of this plan, the following can be mentioned:

 Cultivation among farmers, travelers, tourists and relevant officials, accurate information to attract tourists, design and build infrastructure including ecotourism residences and houses; design of bilingual signs.

Holding saffron festivals, visiting saffron farms and greenhouses, harvesting saffron by tourists, photography in nature, visiting a specialized laboratory, stock market, sorting machine and specialized saffron library, visiting the saffron museum, using the services of ecotourism houses, catering with saffron food and drinks, are among the programs of this club for the use of tourists.
